Dear All:
Greetings! My appeal to the person who mistakenly took an item not his/her at the shoe rack of *** office building. I put my sleeper ( sandal ) at the rack after I left office at around 6:00 P.M.
It has a sentimental value to me as it was a gift from my wife. I usually do not carry (bring) sleeper in all of my overseas assignment, found only in the Philippines.
All personnel at the office building are educated, I do not have doubt that someone would just take not his/her own.
sincerely,
****-COMMISSIONING DEPARTMENT |
Hindi pa nasiyahan... may follow up pa! Astig talaga.
Ms. Ernita,
Good Day! The subject must end up... Now! It is already a virus
that concerns everyone, It is no longer a "clypto" thing .... When I
left the site office no more people around, only the security
and perhaps the cleaner as it is already evening and being a Sunday
only very few people works. In the morning of that day a safety shoes
of my colleague also was stolen ( kindly forgive
me for saying the word ) In the same spot ( Rack )Now, the poor guy
had to prove the lost item and, that, he did not lost his boots but
also lost time as nobody can work without PPE.
Regards,
**** |

"I die without seing the sun rise on my country. You who are to see the dawn, welcome it, and do not forget those who fell during the night."
Today is Jose Rizal's birth date. 146 years old if he's still alive. The Philippine National Hero was a many-faceted genius with a lot of fascinating traits and interesting facts (or fiction) about him not commonly known by Pinoys. Here are some:
- Favorite foods: sardinas secas (now known as tuyo), ayungin, ginisang mungo, pancit, bagoong (especially when prepared by Josephine Bracken) and of course several plates of rice.
- Favorite merienda: champorado
- Jose Rizal died a Freemason. He never retracted his beliefs therefor he
gained the enmity of the Church who placed heavy pressure for his death
sentence. It was recorded in his conversations in Dapitan with Fr.
Pastells and Fr. Sanchez that they offered him safety and longer life
if he retracts his Masonic beliefs and returns to the catholic fold.
Rizal never did. He stood by his beliefs to the death.
- He could read and write at age 2.
- Rizal became interested in Chinese theaters when he was in Hong Kong.
- Rizal could have been a father had not for the mysterious miscarriage of Josephine Bracken.
- Throughout his life, he was very fond of the sleight-of-hand tricks which he often show off to his close friends during light moments.
- Karl Ulmer helped Dr. Rizal brush up his German language upon knowing that Rizal was having difficulty communicating himself
- Seiko Usui is a Japanese girl whom Rizal fell in love with. Jose Rizal affectionately call her O-Sei-San.
- The little boy spent also much of his time in the church, which was conveniently near, but when the mother suggested that this might be an indication of religious inclination, his prompt response was that he liked to watch the people.
- At seven Jose made his first real journey; the family went to Antipolo with the host of pilgrims who in May visit the mountain shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Safe Travel.
- According to Jose Alejandrino who was Rizal's companion in Belgium before checking in a hotel, our hero would ask the hotel's booking attendant the cost of a room with and without meals. To conserve his meager funds, Rizal would always book a room without meals.
- By 1896, the rebellion fomented by the Katipunan,
a militant secret society, had become a full blown revolution, proving
to be a nationwide uprising and leading to the proclamation of the
first democratic republic in Asia. To dissociate himself, Rizal
volunteered and was given leave by the Spanish Governor General Ramon
Blanco to serve in Cuba to minister to victims of yellow fever. Blanco later was to present his sash and sword to the Rizal family as an apology.
- Rizal's advocacy of institutional reforms by peaceful means rather than
by violent revolution makes him Asia's first modern non-violent
proponent of political reforms.
- The day of Rizal's execution, the day of his birth and the day of his first leaving his native land was a Wednesday.

Marketing Tips

Ten Marketing Mistakes to Avoid Is your marketing making you money, or making you crazy? “I can’t afford to market my business because I don’t have the financial capability.” The “I cannots” in a business serve only to justify mistakes. Most marketing efforts fail NOT because of what we don’t have, but because of what we do with the opportunities we DO have. Here’s a list of the most common failed opportunities and marketing mistakes you need to avoid if you are to be successful in marketing your business:
1. Not having a Marketing Plan The most common marketing mistake is not having a plan. Plan...always have a plan in what ever you have to do in your business. Every aspect of it. Your plan doesn't have to complicated. A straightforward and brief one is enough. Your plan must describe who your target customers are and what you can do to make them buy your product or service on a consistent basis. This means thinking about how you can contact and communicate with them.
2. Not having a Marketing Budget You GOTTA have one - it doesn’t matter how large or small it is. You WILL need to spend SOME money (and time) to get people to know about your business.
3. Not understanding the value of a Repeat Customer Too many business people concentrate on making sales and NOT on building customer relationships. You spend time and effort to convince every single new customer to buy your product or service. So think about it: is it better to have five customers that come back ten times a year or fifty new customers every year who buy once and never come back? Customer relationships should be established from the very first time that customer bought a product or avail one of your services. May connection agad! Suki.
4. Not having a Customer Database Get your names and contact details in a database so you can communicate readily with your customers. A phone call or an email to a trusted customer is cheaper than running a new bunch of advertisements.
5. Not having Sales Back-up When your customer walks out the door, is that the last you’ll see of them? If they walked out happy, they will probably be happy to buy from you again. And if they walked out dissatisfied, wouldn’t you want to know why - and then try and fix the apparent problem?
6. Not tracking your Sales In order to have a low-cost, high-impact marketing strategy, you MUST track every sale. There are several things you must find out:
* Where/how did your customer hear about you? * Who referred them to you? * How much money did the customer spend? * How many items did they buy? * Are they a repeat customer?
Be an aggressive tracker: it will save you valuable dollars. You can do this with a simple survey form or just a friendly chat as you close the sale. Reward the people who gave the referrals. Rerun the successful ads. Reward frequent buyers.
7. Failing to Upsell You should try and upsell every customer. Offer additional merchandise at the point of sale or, if you’re selling a service, offer more services or longer term contracts. Sell products or services that complement you core business items. Do pizza joints just sell pizza or do they offer coke and garlic bread as well? Often the mark-up on these items can be a major source of profits.
8. Failing to ask for Referrals A simple, but way too often overlooked strategy. Suggest that customers refer their friends and family to you, or if you’re more aggressive, ask them for names and contact details. You can even throw in a commission or discount for every successful referral.
9. Failing to get commendations or testimonials Do you like to be the guinea pig for a new product or service? How do you know whether it’s good or not? If you feel nervous when trying something new, it’s the same your customers! Reassure them with real letters and testimonials from satisfied customers.
10. Failing to study Marketing Marketing is not an exact science, but it has a rich history of successes and failures. Learn from them. What did others do right or wrong? Talk to others in business. Talk to people within your industry. Observe. Follow other’s hard-learned advice. Continue to learn.

Last night was another "patagong inuman" session with my Pinoy friends here in the jungle. We took our first can of beer in a mate's room before heading out to the bar where the resident band was performing. Using an empty Pringles, we slip inside two cans at first. I was the designated tanggero using my wide body to cover for the red can's content while being poured over a Bintang Zero's can. Those two cans of beer didn't last long so a couple of guys had to go back to the camp to get another eight cans...and the night went through just like that... drinking, listening to live band's music, kwentuhan. Just lettin time pass by to at least let us forget about how we miss our families back in the Philippines. I guess many more sessions will follow now that the supplier has a steady stream of red cans to sell for those alcohol-thirsty folks...And I may not be the lasenggero type but I could definitely use a can or two a night for a nice sleep.

| Malapit na naman ang 3rd Sunday of June and that means malapit na ang Father's day!!! This will be the fifth Year that I will not just get to greet my Tatay a happy Father's day but also be greeted back. Looking back 10 year ago, I was still in my 3rd year high school trying to know myself and picturing out where I would be when I reach the age of 25.
What I will be doing at that age? Ans b4: Running my own business. Ans now: Battling homesickness and killing time in a remote Indonesian province.
Will I have a job? Ans b4: Yes. Ans now:Yes.
Will I even finish a college degree? Ans b4: Yes. Ans now:No. Though was able to graduate on a two-year IT course.
Will I still be single? Ans b4: No. Ans now:No.
Will I be able to drive my own car? Ans b4: Yes. Ans now:No.
Will I have my own house? Ans b4: Yes. Ans now:Yes, but not yet fully complete.
Will I have a son? Ans b4: Yes. Ans now:Yes.
Lots of other questions. Now that I am here in the future of my past 10 years ago, it's good to know that even if my answers to those questions are not what I would have wanted back in that day, I still am very much happy by how things got into place. I would have never thought that I'll be a Father to a very smart and cute son (naks!) this time of my life. I guess this is how my life's been designed, sabi nga nila guhit ng betlog and no regrets from the past. Ngayon iba na ang outlook ko, yun bang "pang-matanda", as what I once called it, na tingin sa pamumuhay. Everyday thinkin about how to be a good parent, husband, friend and teacher primarily to my family. Drawing our future with security as the first focus. Day.Happy Father's Day to my Tatay, Kuya at Bayaw!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Question: When is Mother's day? Answer: 9 months after Father's night :) |

| Wednesday (June 13) was the first day of school of my son. He was excited and even wanted to come immediately to school in the morning even though his class schedule is from 1 PM - 3 PM. Nursery class yun and not only the kids but also the parents were excited and waiting to see what's in store for the newbie students. Ako, even if I am thousand miles away I made sure that I get to share the moment with my wife and son as I sent SMS for minute after minute account of what's happening. Is my son shy, active or moody? Is the school room comfortable and safe? Does the teacher look pretty? Is my son participating in the class? All those sorts of questions and more... I even phoned my wife as I was not satisfied with the speed of communication via SMS. My son actually was a little bit shy and uncomfortable during that first class. He didn't want my wife to leave him inside the classroom so Rhea had to stay at the back of the room. I expected this since this is how Ian always behave on all of his "first time" moments. Yesterday was another story. My son actually adjusted pretty fast to school. He let my wife go outside the classroom to wait. He even got a star for answering correctly and afterwards said to Rhea "na very good ako ni mam" while pointing to his head as if saying how smart he is hehe. My wife and I were very happy during our conversation over the phone yesterday. Maybe this is what parenting is all about. You share the moments (good or bad), teach your kid, nurture his life skills, care for him and give the all the love in the world. Can't wait to go back home again because of this. I am homesick (as usual) but happy to know that my son is in school doing fine so far and my wife is also enjoying this new chapter in our family's life.
