A lot of creative people have experienced being ridiculed and misunderstood at least once in their lives because of who they are. This is because creativity is often pushed aside, labeled insignificant and impractical, and have ranked a little lower than other priorities, like getting a job, having a family, etc. To pursue a creative life is to know that a lot of forces are against you, so you have to be strong and very passionate about what you do.
