I made it home! I actually made it! I was going for a pretty long bike ride into the country side (was going for 50 kilometers) when the most horrid thing happened: Flat Tire and no repair kit. Call me an idiot, but I never ever have needed a kit before, because I’ve never had a flat tire before. After this incident though, I decided to buy a small tire repair kit with a saddle bag for 10 Pounds together. You can easily order it off of bikester.co.uk which I prefer to going out at this time out year. I’m not an expert at changing tires, but the repair seems easy enough to use. Just use black levers to take out the tire, find the where the hose is punctured and put the stickers on it. I’ll never have to walk home again!

Crashed > The Super Bowls in town
Posted: Jan.05.2011 @ 9:15 am

Now I don’t live the USA and I don’t religiously follow American sports, (even though they can be pretty awesome) but there is one event I never, ever miss each year. You guessed it, the Super Bowl. This event is so huge, that people all over the world watch it, even if they have no idea what American Football is about. Last year, the Saints won against the Colts in a pretty good, but not to dramatic match. You should be able the find videos and articles about it on nfl.com. If you’re wondering where you could watch the Super Bowl, you should visit your local sports bars and ask. I already know of 5 bars that are showing the match around on Grey Inn road in London. From the looks of it, the Patriots and the Falcon’s are the top contenders this year. But upsets are always an option, as we learned from the Giants victory to destroy the Patriots dreams of a perfect season. I strongly recommend you watch the game with a couple of hot chicken wings and some classic taters

Crashed > The Butterfly Bike

The so called “butterfly bike” was created to raise money for Lance Armstrong’s foundation. The interesting part: real butterfly wings were glued to it! Don’t worry, the butterflies were bred for this sole purpose. The genius behind the design is Damien Hirst, and English artist. If you want this unique ride, you need a fat wallet, because it’s valued at half a million dollars. My advice: just buy a normal road bike and paint it with lots of pretty colors.

Crashed > What to eat when
Posted: Jan.03.2011 @ 9:51 am | Lasted edited: Jan.03.2011 @ 1:56 am

You hear it all the time: don’t eat carbohydrates, don’t eat fat, you need a lean a protein rich diet. Whenever you hear this, you can assume one of two things: the person is trying to sell you something, or the person is just regurgitating something they heard. The truth is you can and should eat carbohydrates and fats. Of course you need to know the right amount, but you also need to take something else into account: what time it is. Remember when your mother made you eat oatmeal, those bad bad carbohydrates. Well, she was right, because whole wheat carbohydrates are fantastic in the mornings. You just finished a workout? Then there’s is nothing wrong with eating some carbs either. Your muscles need them to regenerate. You just finished a late night run? Eat a couple of nuts. I know nuts contain lots of fat, but a little fat before you go to sleep will keep your metabolism boosted throughout the night. Additionally nuts contain unsaturated fats, which are healthy. As you can see, what to eat and what not to eat is all relative. There are no absolutes when it comes to diet. It’s better for you to eat a balanced diet based on the needs of your body than keep telling yourself: “I will only eat protein.” That being said, there is one rule: No carbohydrates past 8 PM!

Hello.

For my first blog post here, I have a little poem for you.

I crashed today,

crashed down hard.

Bike flew away,

no knee guard.

Bloody torn skin

dirt in the wound

scraped my shin

brakes over tuned.

So, basically I ruined my mountain bike and have to either buy a new bike from bikester.co.uk or have it repaired. I guess that’s what I get for being such a reckless little boy :), or no :(. I’m out for a couple days, my skin got ripped off of my knee, I need to heal.
