Did not expect the speed of the net is fast and i was not prepared to say much, but merely to say i am ok despite many unrest in the southern parts and the judegement day as the nation online put it. Things in here are pretty well, just only i did not able to tolerate the speed of work.

From the yahoogroup , to share with you.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS FOR THOSE OVER FORTY or FIFTY YEARS OLD

> 1. Focus on enjoying people, not on indulging in or accumulating material things.

> 2. Plan to spend whatever you have saved. You deserve to enjoy it and the few healthy years you have left. Travel if you can afford it. Don't leave anything for your children or loved ones to quarrel about . By leaving anything, you may even cause more trouble when you are gone.

> 3. Live in the here and now, not in the yesterdays and tomorrows. It is only today that you can handle. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may not even happen.

> 4. Enjoy your grandchildren ( if you are blessed with any ) but don't be their full time baby sitter. You have no moral obligation to take care of them! Don't have any guilt about refusing to baby sit anyone's kids, including your own grand kids. Your parental obligation is to your children. After you have raised them into responsible adults, your duties of child-rearing and babysitting are finished. Let your children raise their own off-springs.

> 5. Accept physical weakness, sickness and other physical pains. It is a part of the aging process. Enjoy whatever your health can allow.

> 6. Enjoy what you are and what you have right now. Stop working hard for what you do not have. If you do not have them, it's probably too late.

> 7. Just enjoy your life with your spouse, children, grandchildren and friends! People, who truly love you, love you for yourself, not for what you have. Anyone who loves you for what you have will just give you misery.

> 8. Forgive and accept forgiveness. Forgive yourself and others. Enjoy peace of mind and peace of soul.

> 9. Befriend death. It's a natural part of the life cycle. Don't be afraid of it. Death is the beginning of a new and better life. So, prepare yourself not for death but for a new life with the Almighty.

> 10. Be at peace with your Creator. For... He is all you have after you leave this life.

It was almost the end of the day while i was preparing to print a time table on A4 and all of the sudden the chair i sat was moving and the pc shoke.I thought the general workers were piping the line on the roof as these few days they were reparing the campus of the school.

The second shoke came in and my experince i China few years ago told me to leave the building immediately. I told the staff in the office " leave now" and i was the first one to leave my seat and the others followed.

When we reached the ground floor from the 4th floor, other teachers from the other block all were there feeling worried. I was really shocked to learn that Phan could be in the earth quake zone.

Later, i heard that it was the :

Report from the US Geological Survey said that the earthquake, at about 6.1 Richer, struck western Laos near the border with Thailand and also along Thai-Burma border at about 3.57pm.

What will happen next, if the earth is overburdened with the selfish people.

from the nation

Aftershock could be followed : Smith

Disaster Centre warned on Wednesday that after shock could follow the powerful earthquake that hit Laos and was felt in Bangkok.

The centre's advisor, Smith Thammasarot said that the quake was quite powerful and it may have after shock.

"I wish to warn that people should be careful as there could possibly be after shock following the earthquake," said Smith who was a former weather department chief.

Bangkok experienced tremors from earthquake that hit Laos and Thai-Burma border on Wednesday, sending many people running in panic out of many tall buildings in downtown areas.

Report from the US Geological Survey said that the earthquake, at about 6.1 Richer, struck western Laos near the border with Thailand and also along Thai-Burma border at about 3.57pm.

Many people in many small buildings in Sathorn, Silom, Sukhumwit, Phayatai and Vipavadi areas also felt the tremors. They reported building shaking.

The US survey said the quake was recorded at a depth of 33 kilometres in a region that is also close to the borders with China and Burma.

In Chiang Mai, residents of Mae Rim district became panic and rushed out the aged relatives outside their houses.

In Chiang Rai, residents of condominiums and hotel guests rushed out and waited outside.

The tremor also caused the tiered umbrella of Jomkitti Pagada to break and fall down.

Dr Penneung Wanitchai, an ecologist, said the layers of soft soil in Bangkok, magnified the tremor and the power was sent to high-rise building, and thus causing people on high-rise buildings to feel the quake.

He said it was quite frightening that the quake was felt in Bangkok although the epicenter was about 700 kms away. He said damages could happen if the quake happened within the 400 km radius of Bangkok.

Meanwhile Agence France Presse reported that the earthquake also sent people in Hanoi screaming for cover.

In the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, hundreds of people fled office towers and hotels when the city's tall buildings started to sway.

"I thought I was suffering a stroke or a heart attack -- then I realised it was an earthquake," said Fred Burke, a managing partner of the law firm Baker McKenzie, who was on the 13th floor of a Hanoi office building.

"The building shook for about a minute. The staff were screaming, and we told them to get away from the windows and take cover under the tables," said Burke, who comes from San Francisco.

The US Geological Survey estimated the tremor at a depth of 38 kilometres.

China's Seismological Monitoring Network, using a different scale, reported the quake at a strength of 6.6 while Thailand's meteorological department said a 4.7 magnitude aftershock hit at about 1005 GMT.

There was little information out of Laos as authorities tried to guage the impact of the quake in the sparsely populated, mountainous region.

A spokesman for the foreign ministry said tremors were felt in the town of Oudon Xay for 10 seconds. "People were afraid and they all left buildings."

Authorities in the Chinese city of Jinghong, just over the border from the epicentre, said the quake was felt there but there were no reports of injuries or damage.

Got up early, ooop, not too early but rather early for my weekend rountine.Got the dobby done.Took the last piece of the bread and came to the conference room to read online news.

The speed as usual is slow, however, got someone to chat in the msn, that will help to kill the frustration of waiting for the pages to download.

I am thinking of going to cyber cafe tonight to watch and listen to the online TV however the weather forecast frm http://www.t7online.com told me that it would rain for 3 days till Monday. Aha, now is not raining but rather gloomy, may it is raining in other districts within the province.

Bought 1-2 call sim card few days back and two days ago, bought another company TRUE MOVE. It says that it can call 1 baht for the 1st minute and 25 satang thereafter. On weekends, it is free for calling the same network.Wow, what a good deal. THe GSM Ais or 1-2-call is the most expensive network in Thailand till today but the coverage is wide. Op, they said Taksin owned this company before.

Two years ago i used the Orange and now it called TRUEMOVE. It is similair to DIGI., good low calling rate but rather less coverage. The other when i was going to Chiang Mai, i saw many transmitors built along the trunk road.

Now i a using the DTAC and maybe will have to change it when the old phone is dead. The old phone i bought 4 years ago in China is giving me problem now. Well, 400 hours of calling and 1000s of sms sent from the phone, i think it is time to part with it.

If i stay in the wooden hostel, i would save 2500 bahts for the rental and soon, i could get a new one for less functions. However, i hope to get a handset that could help me in my work.

Many a time, have the same complaints about the speed of the internet in the school. Though it is free, i rather pay the bahts and go for a higher speed ones.

A long day for me today as we have to travel hundreds of kilometers to the boarder of the Northern Thailand to apply for residential permit.

Mai Sai this town is famous not only for the farangs but also Thais. The goods there are cheap. But, mind u, most of the goods are from PR China. You feel like walking in the roads in China. The Chinese brands glare and stand out all over the corners of the talat ( market ).

Certainly, different features of faces as the ethinic people are of different  tribes.

Well, plan to go there in winter to shop for some winter clothes and it would not be that hot walking on the streets.

Quite nervious for the afternoon staff meeting. In fact, it is a mixed feeling as i would anticipate a boring session as the meeting will be conducted in Thai and presume would be long. However, we, the foreign teachers would have to be presented there to be 'seen' by the Thai teachers, a sort of introduce session. If we could be excused after that 'ceremony'., i would be delighted to be back to the pc and listen to BBC. :)

I told Hodi i was bored to death however, this is a sort o life in a village. To me, as long as there is online facilities, my life is not confined in the woods, not woods, paddy field.

Perhaps, you like to read this young Thai teen life from a 'genius' to a prisoner http://www.thailandlife.com

It is a surprised that the MOE of Malaysia is changing the tests of PMR and UPSR

So, a new life will soon begin.

Pinged Hodi a few times last week but she did not even bother to say Hi. I was a little annoyed as i have so many things to share with her. Well, she is like all the time busy as she is going to be a beautician. In fact she is now she told me this morning. What ! Hodi is a beautician and i strongly believe her friends would not be able to think so.

Life has many changes and I witnessed it all the time. We get up and go and we fell and we sat and we waited and the get up again. Jet Li' s interview with the Phoenix TV stung me not like a bee but in fact hammered me hard. I started to look again into my life. Yes, my life.

These few days were so busy listening and reading Phoenix TV programmes.
